This entire graphic is made with blue and orange details, with a fun wavy pattern in the background, with the UVA Title IX instagram handle (@uvatitleix) at the bottom of each page. The title page reads “CIO Resources.” Then, there is an introduction reading “There are many CIOS and student-led organizations that empower and support survivors and raise awareness about sexual violence. You are not alone in what you have experienced, and these organizations will provide you with a caring and supportive community at UVA whenever you are ready.”
The first resource is CORE. The description of CORE reads “the Culture of Respect Educators (CORE) is a student-run organization dedicated to sexual assault and gender-based violence prevention, as well as promoting bystander intervention and survivor support. CORE’s initiatives include: facilitating the Dorm Norms presentation given to all first years; delivering the Respectful Interactions and Support Education (RISE) training to all Interfraternity pledge classes.”
The second resource is One Love, whose description says “The One Love Foundation was founded in 2010 after Yeardley Love, a fourth year at UVA, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. Her family created One Love to educate students and raise awareness about the warning signs of relationship violence. One Love’s initiatives include: distributing the Foundation’s “Escalation” and “Behind this Post” workshops; developing advocacy events, awareness campaigns, and speaker series.”
The third resource is PHE. Their description says “The Peer Health Educators (PHE) are trained to educate their classmates about college health and wellness in a fun, interactive, nonjudgmental, and positive manner. PHE’s initiatives include: providing confidential patient education sessions; encouraging mental, physical, and spiritual health; promoting community support for a healthy culture.”
The fourth, and final resource is TBTN. Their page reads “Take Back the Night (TBTN) organizes a set of events every year during the month of April to raise awareness about sexual violence. They seek to educate the UVA community with the overall aim to end sexual violence at UVA. TBTN’s initiatives include: delivering a talk on health masculinity; organizing an information session about Title IX and reporting alternatives; hosting a candlelight vigil for survivors of sexual violence.
