The police are best equipped to respond to any immediate threats to your safety. Call 911 to reach local law enforcement, which may be the Albemarle County Police, City of Charlottesville Police, or UPD depending on your location.

The Dean on Call is also available Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm at (434) 924-7133 to assist with safety concerns, such as emergency housing. After hours, the Dean on Call can be reached by calling UPD at (434) 924-7166 and asking them to refer you to the Dean on Call. If you live in a residence hall, you also can reach out to a Resident Staff member after hours.
