Community Options for Medical Care

Community care providers can offer general care following an incident of sexual violence. Please note that unlike Student Health and Wellness and UVA Medical Center, these resources do not necessarily have training in caring for victims of sexual violence.

What services do community care providers offer?
  • Evaluate for injuries and illnesses
  • Obtain a medical history
  • Provide an STI screening
  • Provide STI and pregnancy prevention prescriptions (up to 5 days after an assault)
